My Students

My students are energetic eight-ten year olds. They love life and love learning about anything and everything they can get their hands on. We are a K-5 school on the outskirts of a town of about 60,000 people. Many of my students live in the neighborhood, but some live further away and are bussed to our school.

Third graders are passionate about learning at our school.

They thrive on hands-on learning, outdoor learning, talking with their friends about their learning, reading, math, science, social studies and supporting their kindergarten buddies.

I feel passionate about teaching my students each and every day. Our school is one of the top performing schools in our school district. This is because we have amazing students, parents, teachers and support staff.

My Project

Many of my classroom books are falling apart and are well loved. My students love to have a book in their hand, but are distracted with pages falling out. Providing newer books to my classroom library will alleviate this distraction and help my students build better reading stamina.

More books build better readers!

My students are also reading at home each night to earn rewards. More books will provide more reading experience for my students. I will be able to provide books for them to read at school and at home, as some students do not have books at their house to fulfill this reading requirement.
