Help me give my students the ability to immerse in the wonderful world of reading! My students would be able to “walk in characters’ shoes”, learn valuable life lessons, and familiarize themselves with many timeless classics.
The students in my class are curious and eager-to-learn young individuals. Majority of my students are English language learners, and about a third of my class consists of students with various special needs or disabilities, such as learning disability, autism, and speech or language impairment.
To provide the best instruction and meet my students at their present level of performance I often need to incorporate lots of visuals, hands-on activities, and various management tools.
Each student in my classroom is a unique learner; together, however, my students make up a great group of young learners who, I hope, would continue their learning journey and grow up to be well-rounded individuals.
My Project
My class consists of readers of different interests and abilities. Students are encouraged to read independently both in class and at home daily which requires having a wide range of literature available to them at all times. Even though my classroom library consists of various types of literature, books requested in this project would definitely enhance the experience of young readers in my class. Some books are more popular among young readers and having an extra copy is always great to promote meaningful discussions about them.
There is nothing more gratifying than seeing the eyes of a child sparked with excitement and enthusiasm for a new book!
Together we can help these young learners become life-long avid readers!
