This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a teacher in a low-income school district, my students are faced with many challenges in and out of the classroom. I want my students to be comfortable at school so they are comfortable learning and will have a better chance at retaining the information that I teach them. My students are usually in my classroom at least 6 hours of the school day. My students love for me to read books to them that goes along with our curriculum.
I would love to fill my reading library so that my students will have a variety of books to read.
I want my students to love to read as much as I do. I want to be able to read to my students and do activities with them that go along with the books so that they will learn and enjoy learning.
My Project
I want to have a variety of books in my classroom library so that my students will have an opportunity to read the books and so that I can use the books for read alouds for my students. Reading is very important to teach to students at a young age. I want my students to grow up loving to read.
I want my students to LOVE to read and for reading to be fun!
Being a Title I school, my students do not read books and have books for their home. I want my classroom to be filled so that they can read books and enjoy learning what they read.
