My Students

I have eighteen students in my first grade class. Nine boys and nine girls. My students love to read. We rotate reading stations most of the morning. The children get to rotate between word work, listen to reading, read to self, read to someone, and writing.

Most of my children are from a low economic status household.

I would love to have enough books in my library to send books home for children to read because they do not have any at home. Having a variety of books will increase the love of reading my children already have!

My Project

I am a first year teacher so the more books I can get for my classroom library the better. My students will use them all morning long during our reading stations. We will also use the books with our curriculum and integrate literature.

Giving my children a variety of books will peak their love for reading.

If we could get this donation I would implement the books into our reading stations immediately. I truly feel having more books than what we already have will not only spark my student's interest but will grow a life long passion for reading as well.
