My Students

How lucky am I? As a primary teacher, I have the opportunity to make an early impression. I teach first grade in an urban, Title I school. We are an International Baccalaureate school developing global citizens through inquiry. My diverse classroom welcomes all types of students.

My first graders are caring, open-minded, curious students that love learning. I hope to foster these leadership qualities in all children.

My Project

My first grade students need a classroom library with multiple, high-interest books to foster their love of reading, gain literacy skills, and meet state standards. It is also recommended that classroom libraries have 500+ titles of various genres. This project not only requests books on a first grade reading level, but also is full of high-quality titles my students cannot wait to read!

"We love reading as much as we love recess," is a common phrase heard in our school.
