My students need 50 AKJ book set to improve literacy because the books provided are either older and broken, outdated or not returned by previous students.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are hungry, not only for the food in the cafeteria, but also for the lessons in their books.
Our school receives Title 1 funding.
The class is made up of 25 general education students. My students have a wide range of abilities, from a kindergarten to a 2nd grade level. Most of my students receive free or reduced price lunch. Many are first generation Americans and they do not have an English speaking parent at home. Many come from single parent homes or are being raised by grandparents.
My Project
These books will allow students to receive new books to read and escape into their imaginations. Having these resources in my classroom will allow my children a great opportunity to escape to a new world made in their books. The books will help them become the TEEN readers they aspire to be! These book sets will help my students improve their reading ability as well as their success in my classroom!
This project will make a difference because school is a place where children feel safe and can escape to a world of literacy given through reading books!
Becoming passionate readers will open doors for my students to achieve any goal they set for themselves!
