My Students

We need books that are of high interest. Books that will get us reading and hold our imagination everyday!

School is made up of 51% Poor, minority students from the inner city: Brooklyn, NY.

They're great kids and deserve the best! We have nothing. No materials, no supplies, no books and no furniture. I'm trying real hard: writing grants and asking for help.

My Project

My students need books such as We Were There, Too, Take a Stand, and various 4-5 Exemplar texts. I'm going to provide my students with non-fiction, poetry, and books based on the new common core standards. The books we have in the class are of no interest to them any longer either because they've read them or are not interested in them. A brand new set of books will hold them captive and activate their imagination!

My project is important because we have a very limited amount of books and we need more so that the kids are engaged in high interest non-fiction, poetry, and novels based on the new common core standards.
