My Students

I teach at a PreK through 8th grade, Title I school in Virginia. Our school serves a very diverse population which includes a high military population, immigrants, a high Hispanic population, French students who are enrolled in the NATO program, a high transient population, and I could go on and on.

Our PreK students, in particular, were chosen for our PreK program because they and their families were going through many hardships and these students are considered "at-risk students".

My Project

My students love books. They love listening to stories. They love looking at pictures in books and trying to picture read. My students are in need of easy-to-read books that they can use in the classroom as well as at home. As we are still dealing with COVID and trying to provide a safe learning environment, I am trying to provide my students with their own personal set of easy to read books. Help me to encourage that love of books and excitement about learning to read among my students by donating to our books project.
