Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We all still remember those wonderful, magical books that we read as children. The books in my project will capture the imaginations of my students and lead them down the joyful path of literacy. These authors will open their minds to the fun found within the covers of a good book.

We are a Title I campus which has a large number of minority students.

A majority of my students, 98%, live below poverty level with the same percentage on free or reduced lunch. They are just learning about the fun they can find within the cover of a good book.

My Project

These books were some of my favorites as a child. These are stories and characters that will capture their imaginations as they meet the wonderful characters and worlds created by these wonderful authors. Literacy is the key that will lead to success in school. These books will open their eyes to the joy of reading and inspire them to become life long readers.

My students are learning that reading is fun.

These books will take them anywhere they want to go. However, when they reach for a book there isn't always one there to give them. Your donation to this project will put books into the hands of hungry readers.
