I teach the third grade Special Education Autism Core Program at our school. We are a Title I school, meaning that more than three-quarters of the students in our school come from low‑income households. Besides autism, some of my students also have anxiety, ADHD and specific learning disabilities. However, despite their disabilities, they always come to school with smiles on their faces.
My students' smiles bring joy to my life, and they make my days more enjoyable.
They work hard and follow the Core Curriculum at the same pace as the general education students. This workload is sometimes difficult for them, and it requires me to constantly think of ways to help them stay focused and engaged so that they can be successful in the classroom. My students love to learn, and I always encourage them to try their best.
With the Scholastic Book Club Coupons, our students would be able to choose books that they like, increasing their willingness to pick up a book and read. This project would benefit all of the students at our school since they would be used as prize options for making good choices around our school.
We would be able to get 210 books with a value of up to $1,050 with this project!
With the coupons, our students would be able to redeem a coupon for a book of their choice that is $5 or less from Scholastic. This means that they could choose books that interest them and that they are willing to read!
