My Project

My 2nd grade students are eager, bright, and full of curiosity. How do I know this? I was their teacher in first grade, and now I (Mrs. P.) am moving up to be their 2nd grade teacher this upcoming school year!

At this age, having a variety of engaging, age-appropriate books is crucial as students develop essential literacy skills and grow as independent readers.

By supporting this project, you are helping to build a classroom library that reflects their interests, cultures, and experiences-while also challenging them to explore new ideas and perspectives. When students are given the freedom to self select books that interest them, they feel a sense of ownership and excitement, which greatly increases their motivation to read and helps them develop into lifelong readers.
