My Project

As our fifth-grade students journey through the wonders of online learning, we are seeking support to provide each of them with a personal copy of The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster, a story that promises to open worlds of imagination just as vast as those unlocked in our shared reading of Matilda. Together, we explored the magic of words, laughter, and learning with Matilda, discovering how stories can make us feel like real magicians in our own right. Now, with The Phantom Tollbooth, we hope to guide students through the winding lands of Dictionopolis and the Mountains of Ignorance, showing them that adventure and discovery live in every page—even within the world of online education.

Reading The Phantom Tollbooth will be like giving our students the key to their very own tollbooth, where they can leap beyond their screens and into realms where knowledge, creativity, and curiosity run free.

The story's whimsical landscapes and playful wordplay will encourage them to approach learning as a grand adventure, helping them make meaning from even the most seemingly mundane facts. Our students’ excitement about the book will light up their screens as they discuss Milo's journey, sparking new ways of seeing math, language, and art in their digital classrooms.

By investing in this book for each student, you’d be providing more than just a novel—you’d be granting an invitation to see learning as a lifelong journey. As they hold their own copies and turn the pages, they will be inspired to explore the realms of learning both within and beyond the boundaries of their screens.
