Books & Bands to Get us Back On Track!

Help me give my students bouncy bands for their chairs, books for our new character education program, and quality novels to bring their reading comprehension back to grade level.

My Students

My students are in a Dual Language Program. They are excited and motivated to learn. My students are expected to grasp the curriculum in a fast-paced, demanding, exciting program. I am impressed by them, everyday, as they work hard and challenge themselves to learn not only the State Core, but also, another language. They are amazing kids!

However, COVID-19 has added extra pressure and stress to students already learning a language and expected to grasp their 5th grade curriculum quickly.

I see the stress of the high expectations they put on themselves and the reality of the challenges this pandemic. It is really affecting their emotional well-being.

My Project

I have focused on 3 areas to help my students in light of COVID-19. First, with helping them to focus and move their bodies while learning. Second, some fun picture books to help with our new Character Education Program. Finally, some award-winning and highly interesting novels that will help to get them reading again.

My students need some items to help them focus during class and learn some excellent character traits.

The chair bands will help kids that have forgotten how to be in a chair and learn. They can bounce their feet and focus and learn.

The picture books I have ordered will supplement our new Character Education Program.

The novels I have chosen will help my students to get back into reading in groups and to bring their reading levels back up to grade level.
