My Project

Reading is one of the biggest hurdles we face in our school. Some of my students are eager to read and some have zero interest and have admittedly never finished an entire book. To get and keep my students interested in reading more I need more books.

Finding yourself in a book can help bridge our reading gap and my students deserve books with characters that look like them.

My goal is to expose my students to writers from various communities and perspectives.

I carefully chose these engaging, diverse books that would have my students coming back for more. The purpose of the books is to get students hooked on reading and to increase their Lexile levels.
