My students need books to help increase their vocabulary and background knowledge. This project is for age appropriate books and a few containers to store the books.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Studies show that if a student reads at least 17 minutes a year, they will be exposed to over a million words!

Our students come from all over the world, over 30 countries and speak nearly as many languages.

In the spring of 2000, results of state testing showed that our students were performing at very low levels. In the spring of 2001, school staff, in cooperation with district and union leaders, undertook a three-year program to internally restructure the school. In 2011-2012 school year, 70% of the students received English Language Learner support and over 90% of the students received free or reduced-price meals. Now, our students are performing well and are meeting the state's requirements yearly. While the students are doing well, teachers still have to pay for many things we use in our classroom because of the population that we serve.

My Project

This project is full of amazing books! In this project, you will find big books, classic books, book bins, and guided reading books. Most of these books will be used during independent reading time. The bins in the project will be used to hold and organize the books.

By donating, you are assisting me in building a solid foundation for their educational careers.

The amount of books in a classroom library has a direct correlation to students' success in reading. Thank you so much for your support!
