Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Who are the best students? My 4 and 5 yr old kids. They are energetic, silly, fun, outgoing, shy, playful, friendly and huggers, and I miss them so much!

My kids are part of a bilingual program recently implemented in the city where we live and being in Pre-K is part of the start of this amazing opportunity.

As part of the bilingual Pre-K program, my kids love having hands-on activities to learn, but being at home, not everybody has access to those materials.

My kids also love reading, some are just learning letter sounds, others are reading syllables and a few are able to start decoding and reading on their own in both Spanish and English.

To help them continue being successful at home I'd like to provide some resources to them so they can continue mastering all they need to be ready for Kindergarten.

My Project

My kiddos love to read. They read pictures, they read words, they love to read with a family member.

As the end of the school year approaches, I'd like to continue spreading my love for literacy with each one of my kids.

Having books at home that are signed by the teacher sounds like the perfect way for them to remember such special time we had together, even with COVID-10 closing our schools, the joy for reading must never be extinguished. I also added a couple of games to have ready for when the school doors open. Kids in my classroom learn through hands-on activities and games and never through worksheets.

Having a nice variety of games is great for the students. I love to see how they come up with new ideas on how to play the game, create new rules, and share it with me and their peers. I love to encourage their creativity.

Board games are a great way to learn social skills, like cooperation, taking turns, listening, and more, which are essential skills for them to have.
