Books are Brain Snacks! Book Vending Machine for PBIS Rewards!

Help me give my students, and all students at TCP School, a school-wide incentive program that will inspire a love of reading and encourage them to be the very best that they can.

My Students

I am a first grade teacher in a Title I PK-2 elementary school, which means many of my students are below the poverty level. My students are very inquisitive and eager to learn. We are engaged in our learning and are striving to become life-long learners.

My students are thinkers, dreamers, and doers.

They love to put on their “thinking caps” and stretch their brains to become the very best learners they can be. It is my desire to give them the tools they need to achieve their goals and realize their dreams. They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!

My Project

Instead of rewarding students with trinkets that hold little value and quickly break or find their way in the trash, my dream is to fill a vending machine with books for students in our entire school to be able to use and enjoy. The vending machine would be a great way to encourage reading and motivate learners! Inchy’s Bookworm Vending Machine will be stocked with new and fresh books that any student will be able to earn and enjoy, fostering their love of reading while building their home libraries! Students would be able to earn golden tokens from teachers, administrators, and support staff by reaching positive behavior goals, reading goals, work ethic, and good character. The possibilities are endless!! Once students receive a golden token, they will use the token to “buy” a book from the vending machine! These books will be theirs to take home and enjoy again and again with their families!

The Bookworm Vending Machine, created by Global Vending Group, will promote literacy by dispensing literary “snacks” to kids as a reward for displaying good character.

This machine has a custom coin mechanism designed for golden tokens that students will earn. With this addition to our school, I believe students will be motivated to make positive choices and work to their fullest academic potential.

Our students would love to be rewarded with a trip to the book vending machine! I would appreciate your support in making my dream a reality!!
