My Project

My students love to look at books during library time. They tend to have their go-to series and characters which is a great foundation for growing as a reader.

I strive to bring new experiences and introduce new formats and characters into that time to help excite them about books they have yet to meet.

The "Trip to" books are a great introduction to wordless books and help level the field for new ELL students as well. Having them anticipate what treasures they'll find each week is worth all the effort as they walk out with something new that they can read and share with others. It doesn't hurt that their reading improves as well.
