This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am changing grade levels from teaching 4th grade to teaching TK (Transitional Kindergarten). The room I am moving to has no books.

A room without books is like a body without a soul.

It is not enough to simply teach children to read or insist they listen to a story; we have to give them something worth reading or listening to. Something that will stretch their imaginations - something that will help them make sense of their own lives and encourage them to reach out toward people whose lives are quite different from their own.

Let's start creating this classroom library today.
