My Project

I teach diverse learners in second grade to fifth grade at our Elementary School. Our school is a Title 1 school where many of the students have difficulty getting access to books and resources. This year our focus has been to facilitate the students in reading different stories in hopes that they will begin to love to read. We have been successful and they want to read MORE!

Students have been learning new vocabulary words and have been using old dictionaries that are falling apart.

Students need new dictionaries with pictures that will help them to learn new vocabulary words.

In addition, student have been reading and loving the Dog Man series, and choose their own adventure books. They have asked for more books like Dog Man. They love looking at the pictures while reading and that has deepened their love for reading even more.
