This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Children with special needs paint the world with beautiful colors each day." -Author Unknown
My classroom is a warm and inviting space where all students are encouraged to try their best and use their unique colors in ways that teach others.
My students don't have disabilities, but rather each one of them has unique abilities that color the world around them. They are inspirations to the staff and peers within our school community. My students are enthusiastic about learning and want to try their best.
My Project
My classroom participates in a fabulous learning experience called Classroom Book a Day.
Every afternoon, we unwind from the day by engaging in the understanding of all cultures through picture books.
My students love this time of day and enjoy learning about others through the pictures and stories depicted in these books. Through thorough research, I have begun to select books that will continue to help my students grow and understand different communities. As a teacher, I want to encourage my students to understand diverse backgrounds and accept one another for who they are.
