Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class consists of 21 wonderful and curious students who are learning to read and use technology. Due to the pandemic, this is the first year my students have been in a consistent classroom since 2020. My students have so much potential and are missing some key resources. They work super hard and they are eager and excited to learn. We are a Title I school and all of our students receive free meals throughout the day.
My Project
My project consists of books that are at an appropriate level for some of my students. Although I teach third grade, some of my students are developing readers and cannot read third grade books. In this project, I have included picture books that are popular among first graders. This will allow my students who are beginning readers to have access to books they can actually read. In my classroom I also have many students who learning English, these books will help them as well. I also have included lap desks that my students can use in their library. The hooks and double sided tape will allow me to hook their headphone organizer to a closet near the library.
I want my students to feel comfortable in our library regardless of their reading level or language ability.
These books will contribute to my learning environment and allow all students a chance to find a book they can read.
