My first grade students are excited and eager for this year's learning challenges. Our diversity makes our classroom whole and complete, as we each can bring our own personal experiences and perspectives to create well-rounded conversations and projects.
They strive to be the best and greatest at everything they do.
With this year's goals and projects in mind, we need some items that can really help make our year even greater!
We live in Texas and we attend a small public charter STEM school campus of around 200 students. We come from a variety of backgrounds and ethnicities, including Hispanic Americans, African Americans, and Indian Americans to name a few. Since our campus is quite small, and we are a charter school, we are often underserved in many respects. Please consider helping out in any way that you can! It will be put to great use, and greatly appreciated by my 5 and 6 year olds!
My Project
We are requesting a set of hooks for our backpacks with a top shelf to help store our books. This storage unit will give us our first permanent wall fixture to store backpacks and jackets for the upcoming cold months. We have been using command hooks, and not only are they expensive, but they are also a temporary fixture, as many have already broken off.
My first graders are already off and making amazing strides in their reading!
Because we use AR in our school, our students cannot take a quiz on a book that they have already quizzed on. Also, this year I have many students on the same level with a limited number of books. By receiving these books, we will have a few more options to select from in our library.
