My students need games such as Blink, Uno, Emoji Uno, Guess Who, and Tiny Polka Dot as well as books including I Walk with Vanessa, The Rabbit Listened, What Can a Citizen Do?, Dude! and more!
I teach full-day Kindergarten in an Oklahoma school that values learning through the multiple intelligences. The students in my classroom come from a variety of social, academic, and economic backgrounds. In spite of our differences, we are building a classroom community that embraces each member as we grow and develop. It is important to me that children leave with a community that values their own growth and learning, while understanding that we are all better when we learn firsthand from others and their experiences as they impact our own.
My Project
Children are naturally social! They are full of wonder and excitement and love to share it with others. What better way to answer their questions or help them engage in social experiences than through books and games?
I am requesting books and games of Uno, Blink, and Guess Who that will offer experiences to help children ignite their curiosity and continue to wonder while they develop important social skills!
The books that will be used during our whole group read aloud to build background knowledge and make connections as we grow as early readers as well as a community of learners in the classroom.
Be Brave Little One, What If Everybody Said That?, The Rabbit Listened and What Can Citizens Do? will help us grow individually and as a group. The books and the games will help children foster relationships that deepen their learning and social skills during our time together but last long beyond it.
