Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I want all my students to have access to the materials and books in order to promote their life long love of reading. These books are high interest books that will excite my students!

Reading is so important, and it is important to spark a love for reading at a young age.

Using these books to push my young readers who need a little more challenging text than what they normally would have at their grade level is a win.

I aim to use "Stories with Holes" or stories with missing pieces to improve my scholars critical thinking abilities. What makes these books so special is they are all short stories and are read aloud which will be perfect to use during any delay or during transitions from one subject to another.

I plan to help the environment by not using as many printed worksheets. I aim to teach my scholars to be more environmentally conscious by reducing paper and utilizing journals and organizing loose paper into folders,

By being smart about the amount of paper we use, and teaching students to be more environmentally conscious is my hopes to improve our environment and planet.

I am confident that the silly and interesting stories I have selected will help my students become avid readers. Thank you for putting books and folders in the hands of my scholars.
