Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My creative writing students are exceptional human beings with immense talent. Please help me give them unique and meaningful experiences in our classroom. We cover everything from poetry to podcasts. We write and publish our own books, and we share the love for writing with our community. With better equipment like a laptop that can support film making and podcasts, mics that will help our clarity to record readings of our work, we will be able to produce better quality audio and video. This will help us spread the word so that other aspiring writers will join our program.
My students work so hard on their writing, and they deserve to have something beautiful and high quality to show for it.
The book binding materials will help us take the time with our finished products to make them beautiful and give the work the respect it deserves. Learning the art of binding will help show my students the delicacy and thought that goes into a completed book. This will help them take their love for writing and reading to another level that not everyone gets to experience.
My hope is that my students will continue to write and master their skills, but even if they don't pursue writing in the future, I want them to have the memories in their hands to always remember their time as authors.
