Books and Audio Books - the Unicorn Academy Series

My Project

My third-grade students love to read. Independent reading with books of their own choosing from our classroom library is a favorite time of the day. Our classroom library has grown to include more current and diverse book titles. However, one area of our classroom library that needs continued growth is our audiobooks collection. My goal for this project is to update our classroom library with more audiobooks that are written as a series.

Audiobooks have been shown to positively impact reading fluency and interest in reading.

A new collection of high-interest audiobooks for our classroom library would provide materials to students of different reading abilities and interests and help create positive reading experiences for all students. When students read books that are part of a series, they can continue from book to book with familiar characters and relatable storylines. This project is for books in the Unicorn Academy series. I think that my students will be eager to read every book in this series.
