My Project
I have included books to educate children about the world, environment, and climate. I chose ones with nice illustrations to encourage interest and ones that I know have good information. I included a couple of small globes for students to use in stations for geography assignments. Possibly an incentive to keep on their desk for good behavior? We will see. I also included a map tapestry with dinosaurs on it to use as a discussion point for continents, where we are in relation to other places in the world, and to discuss how the earth has changed over time. I included a daily geography book for third grade that I have used for a different grade level and loved. I was surprised how many 4th and 5th graders do not have basic understanding of where places around the world are and would like to work on that with my future younger students.
