Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are in K-8 Virtual School. We are a Title I School with over 80% of our students qualifying for free and reduced lunch. More than 50% of our students are on IEPs. This project's focus is our primary students. We know that our students would greatly benefit from having read-alouds in our virtual learning spaces. I would love to include more books about compassion and empathy to help teach these critical Social Emotional Learning topics. Students learn how they may take action to help others in need and will take surveys throughout the year so we can collect data and measure students' success of learning about compassion. Research shows that students who are engaged in their learning will have increased test scores. We want to make sure they are excited about coming to class and love learning and know that with your love and support, we can make this happen.
