My Students

I teach in a K-5 elementary building. Our students are inquisitive and ask thought-provoking questions with supportive parents. Typically most students who enroll in kindergarten spend their entire elementary career within our school. We are a school that prides itself on PBIS implementation and the home-school relationship. My school has also recently implemented AVID, which places emphasis on college and career readiness.

All of these support systems allow students to feel supported and more willing to learn.

We are raising lifelong learners at my school!

My Project

Book clubs are one of my favorite parts of our day in fourth grade. Students love discussing books, and the conversations are amazing. However, I am limited on engaging, yet complex texts for my students during book club time. With this project, I will be able to provide quality, high-interest books to my students. Getting students excited about books is one step in the battle of reading. Reading and discussing books like what I have carefully selected will allow my students to love what they are reading while being able to discuss a text at a much deeper level. This is a lifelong skill, and I can't wait to provide my students with these books. Thanks so much!
