My Project
My name is Coach Thomas and I am the E-Sports coach for Booker T Washington High School in Tulsa, OK. My Esports program has exploded in growth these last two years, and I have invest several hundred dollars into helping teach our children the fundamentals of E-Sports. The problem is, we don't have any equipment. We have done everything from home so far. It is becoming very problematic, especially since we have gone to state finals every year- it feels as if we are working with a handicap.
Working with new equipment readily available to us could really help build the program even more, help us offer more titles for games, and help our students discover their talents in the E-Sports world.
It would give them an understanding of collegiate level E-Sports, how to get better at hand-eye coordination, and navigate new challenges in computer technology.
My goals for this project is that we could have a new setup where our students can play their titles and have a safe space to compete and build their teamwork. By building a new E-Sports lab, we will be expanding our High Schools secondary programs and reaching a wider audience of students by getting them plugged in to school activities, making an even more conducive learning environment.
What makes my students special is that they are very good at what they do. All of my students are top ranked in their titles while remaining high standard scholars. For example, one of my players is a top 500 player in North America while maintaining a 4.0 GPA! MY players are the best, and set their standards high. Because of this, I want to have high standard of a play arena and be a high standard coach.
