My Students

My school is located in a small, rural town near the coast of South Carolina. My school is a Title I elementary school serving over 800 students, with most students receiving free lunch and breakfast. Even though most of our students do not have much, they are kind and generous with what they do have. My students come to me for support in reading and math and each has a strong desire to improve.

I get to claim some of the coolest kids in our large, rural elementary school as my students, and I am lucky enough to have them for multiple years.

My Project

Due to a grant that our school received, our classroom was very fortunate to receive new books this year for the first time in a very LONG time. With this purchase, which was quite sizeable, a new problem has arisen.

We have no where to store over 1000 new books!

Please help us purchase a new, sturdy, double sided bookcase. This bookcase will allow me to display books on both sides of the case so that my students can begin to utilize the new Daily 5 libraries that were purchased for our classroom. There were no bookcases available when I began teaching at my school so I have slowly accumulated inexpensive ones over the years. These discount bookcases will not hold all of our new books.
