My learners being so much personality and life to our classroom. Coming from various neighborhoods in our urban public school, they have unique experiences that not only enrich our community, but also create opportunities to learn empathy for others.
Creating a meeting space and having the just-right resources, such as books, for students to make the learning experience meaningful are key to success.
With a variety of materials and ways for students to engage with content, they will be able to grow and flourish in 5th grade!
"Take charge of your learning” is our class motto. Students take ownership of their learning, not to please their parents or their teachers, but instead to discover their passions and become the best they can be. This ownership is apparent through the “Partner Pick Book Projects” that students design and create with a reading buddy and through the numerous ways students take my learning experiences beyond the expected to both enhance my lesson and enrich their learning!
We have had so many generous people, companies and organizations donate books to our classroom. From novel studies to book clubs to independent reading books, we are running out of space to house them all!
Your donation will help not only help us get the books organized, but it will also put the books on display so kids can find a just right book to read.
We all know how awesome it is to find books that we love, and with this donation, I'll be able to get more books in front of students and help them do just that!
