Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In order to promote a joy of reading, introducing books in a fun way can help engage students. Hosting a book tasting party will make picking out books they want to read fun and engaging. A book tasting party allows students to pick multiple books and learn about the different genres that they have access to. From there, they can make a list of books they would want to read, buddy read or even form small book clubs. Adding snacks and drinks makes this experience feel more joyful and more like a party while also supporting students who may not have access to these treats at home.
Students finding joy in reading is fundamental for their learning and their education experience and a book tasting will foster that excitement for students and set the expectation that reading is an important part of our class.
