My Project

My fifth-grade students love reading, and they absolutely love picking out books from our class library. Our independent reading time is so special in our room and students really thrive when they have an assortment of books to choose from. Each quarter, I surprise my students with a book-tasting cafe event. The room is transformed into a cafe, complete with music and refreshments. There are books at every table and the students get to take turns rotating to different tables to see all of the available books for them!

The book tasting event is a highlight of the year and these books will make it possible for us to have one more before the end of this school year.

These books will be added to our classroom library and students will get to check them out whenever they'd like. Having a variety of books in our classroom is so beneficial and makes reading fun and engaging for my students.
