This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to talk and love to read! I want to combine their LOVE of both and guide them in meaningful discussions about characters in their favorite stories. These discussions help them learn how to value others' opinions, and ideas while fostering their love of working collaboratively in small groups.

Having multiple copies of books is important so every child can take ownership and be an active participant in their book clubs or while reading with a buddy to foster discussions, make connections, laugh together, and build upon each other ideas and thoughts.

Providing my students multiple copies of high-interest books they enjoy reading, will help them create a strong foundation for them to build their reading life!
