My Project

Reading is truly one of my favorite things to do! Inspiring my students to read and giving them endless books to choose from is a major goal of mine. One of my favorite parts of teaching English to high school students is connecting with them through discussions about books, whether they come to me looking for a specific book, or come to me recommending that I read a specific book.

With the rise of "BookTok" on social media, which includes users sharing their latest reads, I have noticed an increase in my students being interested in reading again!

Some of my students come in and only like reading a certain genre or maybe even a certain length! With this project, I am hoping to start building a bookshelf that they have helped build! I want to fill it with books they request as well. Books can take you on all of the adventures without having to move from the comfort of your seat! I look forward to watching them grow their love of reading and watching our bookshelf evolve to their needs!
