My students deserve the best education possible. They are extremely talented, energetic fourth graders, who always seem to put out their best effort in all that they do.
This year's fourth graders live in Manhattan's Chinatown.
They are superstars! Many of them are English Language Learners and students with special learning needs. Many live in single parent homes or they live with grandparents while their parents live in another state. Each student receives free or reduced-price lunch. No matter what they face each and every day they give it their all each and every day with a smile!
My Project
Help provide books and books and more books to my students. Since opening the doors fully to my students they have loved independent reading time. Imagine trying to teach a math lesson and finding students hiding a book under their math notebook as they read. Many of my students have been without real books in their hands for the past 18 months. I'm trying to get as many new books into their hands as possible. These books will be used during independent reading, read aloud and book clubs. When you get so many new books we will also need some book shelves to store them. Thank you in advance for keeping my students reading!
