Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

There is a lot of data that says that students are entering each grade level reading below their age and grade level. I have spent many years cultivating a good classroom library in my English classroom, and I want my students to have a book with them at all times. They are able to check books out to read at school and to take home and care for. When they are done reading the book, they turn it back in and get rewarded.

When the books are read, students get a sticker to put on their class poster.

The class with the most stickers at the end of the year gets a party! Books get read, lexile and fluency go up, and students get competition and stickers. Winning.
