This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Winston Churchill once said, "Success is walking from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm." Sixth graders often struggle to forget a failure but as a teacher, I encourage each student to learn from their failures. Each student is full of potential and it is my hope to engage them in their journey to help them fall in love with learning.
In my classroom, we strive for progress not perfection.
My goal is for each student to learn something new each time he/she enters my room. Each day that we learn something new, the day was not wasted. Being an English teacher, my students struggle with writing but they never lose hope when faced with a new prompt. Some even are thrilled to show off their skills and experiences to the class.
My Project
Being a Title I school, many teachers utilize Donors Choose to help supplement our classrooms. These books will help my students fall in love with reading. Many of these children have not had the opportunity to find their favorite novel and it is my goal to help them find their reading niche.
A reader lives thousands of lives.
Through books my students will be able to engage their imaginations as well as foster a love a reading. By obtaining these books, I will be able to give each child a copy of the novel to interact with to help them achieve success.
