This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Structured Literacy class is taking off this school year. My students are excited to improve their reading fluency and comprehension through their classwork. The most exciting aspect of the class for the students is to select books of their choice to read for enjoyment. The students believe that they are selecting fan favorites but I know that they are choosing to become life long active readers. Unfortnately, our books are still in the packing plastic because we do not have bookcases to organize the books. The bookshelves will allow us to have an organized library for the class.
Students have selected books about anime, true crime, sports and fantasy fiction to increase their reading skills but also for enjoyment!
The presentation clicker will be used to switch slides on lessons so that I can move around the room to check students' work. Additionally, they will utilize the clicker when they make their book report presentations.
