Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a wonderful group of second-grade​ students in a low-income school where all of my students are English Language Learners. All of my twenty-five students are so excited about school and love to learn.

My students try so hard in school every day to do their best work, and I want to ensure that they have a classroom where they can continue to fall in love with learning.

My Project

My classroom library is in need of new Spanish Books! Many of my students lack access to high-quality books at home, and finding books in Spanish can be especially challenging for families. After conducting an assessment of our classroom library, I found that it was lacking in emergent and non-fiction books. We also have a limited number of Spanish books and many that we do have are outdated or not very interesting to my students. This leads my students to not having a variety of books to choose from. My students love to read! Please help me to get the best books into their hands.
