This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
90% of our amazing students live below or near the poverty line. About 60% of our students are learning English in school. Sometimes our school struggles to get the resources we need to teach and care for our incredible students. This makes the job of a school even more important.
Many students we teach experience poverty, but that's just where they are starting.
Our students love to create art and read. They write computer code and even perform Shakespeare. They have big dreams, let's help them reach for those dreams!
My Project
My students need exciting and challenging books to get them excited about reading every day! Your generosity will put these books into the hands of our students. All of these books are the most demanded books by my students. They won't be able to put them down. When kids get excited about books, there is no stopping them!
Our students love to read, but we don't have books to help them explore their interests-- Let's fix that!
Your generosity will put books in their hands. These books will be placed in our classroom library, and kids will be able to choose them to read independently. You will be sending us books about the magic of childhood like catching fireflies, trying on your grandmother's clothes, and moving into a new home. so we can read it as a class. Your gift will inspire them to read, learn, and take over the world!
