Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you ever read a book and get excited about sharing with Others? I want my students to feel that excitement too.

My students attend a magnet school and most of them are reading above grade level.

The majority of my students love reading. That is a great place to be as a first grader. I would love to expand their love of reading by having literature circles, or book clubs, for them.

My Project

I have some sets of books in class so I'd like to start meeting in small groups for students to read and respond to their books. The book bags I'm requesting will help organize our materials and give students a place to take their books home. The journals give students a place to respond to their reading.

I want my students to continue their love of reading.

These book clubs will do just that. Your generosity will help me make these clubs more organized. Thank you for your consideration.
