My Project

I want to give students in my classroom access to books that will foster a lifetime love for literacy. However, it is not enough to hand a student a book. Students need the opportunity to read with others to foster their growth in literacy as well as their social skills. Students living in this community are often isolated. By funding a collection of books for my classroom, students will be able to read at their current ability level with similar performing peers, and discuss characters from all socioeconomic backgrounds as they progress.

Students in my classroom want more opportunities to read.

By providing them access to award winning books as well as reading incentives, students will be more excited than ever to read, and establish new friendships along the way.
