My students need 54 children's series books including "Cam Jansen", and "Froggy" to read together in book clubs.

My Students

Book clubs! A chance to get together with friends and discuss favorite books over coffee. I'm hoping to bring this wonderful experience to my students, minus the coffee!

My students are of course, the most wonderful children ever!

:) I teach second grade on New York. It's an urban neighborhood that is wonderfully diverse. The families really value education and pass this value to their children. Many of my students are English language learners and recent arrivals to the U.S.

My Project

These books will enable children to sit together and read books of a common series. They will share the books with each other and have discussions and inquiry sessions. Together, they will explore character, setting, problem, and solution. They will compare and contrast books within the series. In book clubs, the students will have fun and learn from each other.

It is very important for children to be able to discuss their books with each other.

This helps with skills such as reading comprehension, higher-level thinking, book appreciation, and socialization.
