My Students
My students are motivated and energetic kiddos who enjoy a multi-modal approach to learning. It is my job to introduce new and different avenues to learning in all academic areas. We live in a rural ranching community in Colorado where more than a third of our students come from low-income households. Our familes nor or school district have the resources or the means to purchase everything for the students. I need to help my students to get the best tools they need in order to be successful in their learning.
My Project
Literature circles are a great way to motivate and engage students in detailed discussions about text. Great book clubs allow children to make connections and reflect together to gain a better understanding. Kids need to experience meaningful dialogue that has a purpose.
A child who reads will be an adult who thinks.
Dr. Seuss once said, "The more that you read, the more things you'll know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
The goal of all teachers and schools is to raise reading expectations and test scores to a very high level. I am determined to foster a love of reading in children. In my mind, success will be inevitable due to increased motivation and desire. I am passionate about sharing good literature with children in order to inspire a lifelong love of reading. Literature circles, here we come!!
