This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When I think about my students, I think about the endless opportunities they have.

Their love for learning and hunger for knowledge never ceases to amaze me.

They are coming into their own and are quickly discovering what they are passionate about and what their interests are! I have several future scientists, teachers, nurses, athletes, and much more just sitting in my classroom right now!

My classroom is filled with 19 brave little scholars and it is my job, as their First grade teacher, to create a learning environment that encompasses adventure, wonder, and their interests. Coming to school everyday and getting to be with them is such an encouragement and I always leave school proud of how encouraging, thoughtful, and motivated they are. It is so rewarding to see a group of first graders express their love to learn and see them uplift and encourage their classmates! I'm a very thankful teacher!

My Project

We are requesting book boxes. These book boxes will create organization. The previous boxes I used would constantly break or get wet and make the boxes unusable. These book boxes will be sturdier and last much longer so that my kiddos will have something the whole year. These boxes will be in our library to keep books organized and some will be kept in their cubby for them to tote around the classroom to read during our independent reading time.

Having these boxes will improve their school lives by giving them choice in their learning environment.

They will be able to choose their own books to keep in their book box and they will exchange them on a weekly basis, so that they will be able to explore new stories, genres, characters, etc.
