Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a Kindergarten teacher in a New York City Public School. The classroom I am currently teaching in has many supplies, including books. However, I will soon loose many of the books. The classroom I am teaching in is one that I took over for a teacher who went on maternity leave. She is coming back to the school and she is packing up her belongings, including all the wonderful books that are in the classroom. My students have enjoyed many of the books that I have been reading to them. Once I read them the books, they love to go into the library during choice time and choose to read many of the books that are available to them. However, they soon will not have that option. The teacher has been generous by leaving the books while she was away, but she wants them back now, they belong to her. So I am asking for books for my classroom. I couldn't believe how many books belong to the teacher until I began going through the library and picking out the books. I can't blame a teacher for wanting back what is hers, but I hate to have a bare library. It would take a while for me to replace all the books and anyone who can help me replace part of it would be greatly appreciated.
