My Students

I have two classes of dual language kindergarten learners. They are with me for one day learning English, and the other day they are with my partner learning Spanish. The majority of my students speak limited English and are from low income families. My students are extremely diverse in their special learning needs and abilities. It is great to have such a diverse class because we all can learn something from one another. My students enjoy learning new concepts and are overjoyed when they realize they have learned something new! Our school is very fortunate to have a high percentage of parent involvement. Together, with the parents, teachers are able to provide wonderful learning opportunities for the students. I strive to be the best for my students because I know that they try their best for me on a daily basis.

My Project

Each students needs their own personal storage to use for their independent leveled readers. Having these book bins will allow for each to have their own bin that is easily accessible and easy to carry with their tiny hands.

Many of our students have been affected by Hurricane Harvey and are struggling emotionally and financially due to being displaced.

Students enjoy being able to shop for books that are at their reading levels. I want to make reading easy and fun for each child this year, and having these book bin will do just that. Thank you for considering our classroom!
